About Me
I’ve been a TOPO! user since the SF Bay Area region was first released, and currently use the State Series with Streets & 3-D Views. In addition to some of the obvious applications such as planning trips, identifying features, and recording locations with GPS data, I use TOPO! for planning outdoor photography: 3-D views for estimating the view from a location, and the compass tool for determining directions and estimating lighting during the day and for planning shots involving the Sun or Moon.
I’m mostly in California but occasionally venture a bit to the north or into the southwest.
