Who knew that ropes could swim? We (not me!) lost a BRAND NEW 10.3 rope in Clear Creek (CO) this weekend. (Don’t ask—it literally jumped out of a pack!) We found it a mile downstream. It had come to a shallow area with an island and 1/2 was swimming down one side and 1/2 down the other. It started securely in a rope bag. We never found the bag, but were sure glad to see the rope. It was a dry rope, which seemed to help it float, and appeared miraculously to seem completely undamaged. |

Ouch! Glad you recovered it. I’ll keep my eye out for a bag while fishing. Where abouts on CC were you? Mike |

4.4 miles up canyon at the Little Eiger Wall is where the rope went in. We recovered it about 3 miles up canyon—where it gets shallow and there’s an island. The bag must be in Golden by now! |
